I have lived in Southeast Alaska since 1980, first in Juneau and then Sitka.  Much of that time was spent living aboard our 43’ sailboat, “Solara”, and sailing the Inside Passage.  My husband and I worked together as Captain and crew for a local tour boat company in the summers taking visitors to see the breathtaking beauty and the bounteous wildlife  of Southeast.  It was wonderful, exciting, and a great adventure everyday. My first commission was selling my art cards aboard the tour boat. Creating art has always been a part of me. Artistic expression brings joy and amazement as I realize the image in my mind and heart are being transferred to paper. The process fills me with appreciation for the ability to see the light, shadows and shapes that come together as my art, almost an extension of myself.   I now live on land in Sitka and enjoy the beauty of each day – with so many visions to get onto paper.
